Ski Resort

In the French alps on the French/Swiss border, above lake Geneva lies the Portes du Soleil, the world's largest cross-border ski area, with 600 km of slopes and 209 lifts.  Chatel is in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, linking with Avoriaz, Morzine on the French side and Morgins, Champery on the Swiss side.  The ski area caters for all levels and the beauty of the area is the number of little bars, restaurants and mountain huts scattered all over the slopes.  The chalet is located next to the Portes du Soleil and Gabelou chair lifts giving director access to Super Chatel, Morgins and Champery on the Portes du Soleil lift and access to Linga, Pre La Joux and Avoriaz from the Gabelou chairlift.  So you can leave on one lift, ski over to Switzerland and return on the French side without skiing the same piste twice in one day.

Summer Activities

In the summer Chatel is a fantastic destination for those who love the outdoors.  Walking track and cycling tracks abound, (the GR5 route passes around the Cornettes de Bise and the Mont de Grange, the two dominant peaks in the Abondance Valley), via ferratas, Go-Ape, white water rafting, summer luge, fantasticable….. the list is endless.  For downhill mountain bike enthusiasts there is the Chatel Bike Park with easy access to Morzine and Les Gets, all of which are world renowned bike parks.  The “multipass” activity card gives free access to more than 60 sporting and culture activities in the resorts in the Portes du Soleil.  As a multipass provider this is available to our guests for €3.00 per day.
